Washington Island, Wisconsin

Visiting Washington Island up in Door County was a blast. They have so many things on the island to keep you busy. We took the car over on the Washington Island ferry and spent the day checking out the sites while my best friend was visiting from Georgia. We visited Schoolhouse Beach, The Stavkirke church, The Lavender fields at Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop, climbed the Mountain tower, had lunch at a bar and grill on the island, stopped for coffee at a local coffee shop, checked out the dunes on the island and ended the night with a cider flight at Island Cider in Door County. If you have never been it is well worth the drive and day. Whether you make it a day trip like we did or a weekend there is plenty to do between the Washington Island and Door County. It makes for an amazing fall get away too with the beautiful colors coming soon!
